Congratulations Kieran, Pete & Cory
Spencer Yates2022-06-27T09:47:36+00:00At Proteus we have had some recent changes to those in our managerial roles. Kieran, Pete and Cory all have lengthy services with the business, have a huge variety of knowledge and are dedicated to outputting work and products of the highest quality to support staff and customers. Where one individual gets promoted we didn’t want a gap in any skillset meaning Kieran, Pete and Cory tended to progress through the business together.
Kieran
Kieran originally joined our sister brand, RPP, in the September of 1997 as part of a placement from Coventry University. Kieran was completing a course in industrial product design and came to RPP as a Design Office Trainee. After the placement was complete, he stayed working part time and in July 1998 became a Production Engineer. In showing his enthusiasm he was offered to work full time in this role once he graduated from his degree in 1999. During this time Kieran was able to work in all departments of the business including sales, purchasing and production making him a well-rounded and experienced asset. All the knowledge gained allowed Kieran to take a big step in becoming RPP’s Assistant Factory Manager in 2004.
An opportunity arose in December 2006 for Kieran to become Proteus Consumers Factory Manager. This role included numerous changes to product standards and regulations which in turn required vast amounts of product development in various areas including RCBOs and the introduction of AFDDs. Taking on yet another promotion, in May 2022 Kieran became a Senior Works Manager using all his existing skills from the years he has spent in the business and understanding of the industry to assist with Proteus Consumer and RPP operations to develop new products and identify opportunities. Kieran now also oversees our inhouse design and marketing team, so has come full circle to (near enough) where it all began.
Thank you to Kieran for his dedicated service to the company and congratulations on your accomplishments over the years, may you continue to go from strength to strength!
Pete
Pete joined us back in May 2012 starting as a Management Trainee coming straight from Aston University. Starting in this role gave him the opportunity to work in all areas of the business across all of our 5 factories. In 2014 Pete was then promoted to the Commercial Manager for Proteus Consumer ensuring he had vast product knowledge and giving him responsibility in providing customers with detailed quotes and support. Following on from his first promotion he continued to implement his hard work and knowledge into the business wherever possible, by doing so he was promoted again to Assistant Factory Manager in 2017.
Most recently, Pete has taken another step within the business and on the 1st May 2022 became the Factory Manager for Proteus Consumer. During Pete’s 10-year service with the company he has shown the impact that dedication and passion for the job can have on the internal career progression.
Not only would we like to thank Pete for his dedicated service but also for being the most willing person to get in front of the camera to share his industry knowledge with others. Congratulations on a decade!
Cory
Cory started with the company at the beginning of August 2017 also on the Management Trainee program. Whilst on the Trainee program he got to learn all aspects of the business, but primarily gaining understanding of the production and quality side of the business. In June 2021, he was promoted into the role of Commercial Manager, the key aspect of the role was to oversee the work of the Dispatch Department and the Sales Office, ensuring staff are motivated and tasked correctly. From enquiry to delivery, Cory enjoyed being entirely involved with the orders that passed through our factory.
Cory’s commitment and enthusiasm to the company did not go unnoticed meaning most recently in May 2022, he was promoted to Assistant Factory Manager overseeing the general running of the factory and working in close proximity to the factory manager. During his service, Cory has also been trained on both counterbalance and reach forklift trucks, a first aider and fire marshal as well as gaining additional knowledge in the form of multiple EDA modules.
Congratulations Cory on your achievements, and a big thank you for your diligent work!
