The main switchboard from Proteus Industrial was fitted with a 1600 A 3 pole air circuit breaker incorporates Type 1 & 2 surge arrestors giving protection against the effects of lightning strikes (Type 1) and man-made (Type 2).
Proteus Industrial Switchgear of Telford have worked closely with Desco, award winning MEP electrical consulting engineers to provide the main electrical installation for the new CEF IT building in Durham.
The main switch board fitted with a 1600 A 3 pole air circuit breaker incorporates Type 1 & 2 surge arrestors giving protection against the effects of lightning strikes (Type 1) and man-made (Type 2).
A 400 A ATS (automatic transfer switch) is connected to a remote generator in the event of a mains supply failure. The ATS panel also supplies three standalone UPS (uninterrupted power supplies) to supply the data centre essential loads.
The installation is to be monitored by a multi-function meter with RS485 communication.
