MCB Boards & Circuit Protection Devices – Halfords

Previously purchasing preassembled standard switch boards from another manufacturer, Halfords realised they did not suit their particular requirements and needed something a little more bespoke. Following contact with Proteus Industrial Switchgear of Telford a site visit to an existing store was arranged where further discussions with the installation electricians resulted with a distribution panel incorporating multiple MCB boards, contactors, time switches and emergency lighting test equipment were all designed in to suit their future needs. The initial installation was in the Halfords store at Beckton.
A number of dedicated MCB’s and RCBO’s were pre-wired and fitted to the contactors to give flexible switching and load management.
Additional MCB’s were supplied via CEF [City Electrical Factors] to fully equip the board when all the circuits were finalised. Bruce Birkmyre, Store Development Manager said, “ with Proteus being a UK based manufacturer it was easy to discuss exactly what we wanted and to make any changes as the install progressed. It also resulted in a more cost effective panel board with reduced installation time.”
