Over 65 Years of Loyal Service

With over 65 years of loyal service between them its safe to say Tony and Julie have played a huge part in the development of the Proteus brand right from the start – or even earlier for Julie.

Julie Rankin – Proteus Industrial Sales Office Manager, worked for the company for 2 years before Proteus Switchgear was formed in 1988 and has been here ever since. During her 35 year service she has never missed finishing the sales procedure at month end. Despite having two children during the time she always managed to make it in to confirm the final figures and make sure all was in order to start the new month. Julie heads up our Proteus Industrial sales office and is responsible for the successful and efficient running of this department. If you have called our Telford based Industrial operation, chances are that you have directed your enquiries to Julie.

Tony Tombs – Proteus Industrial Technical Manager joined the Company in November 1991 and has been involved in the development on virtually all the product ranges you see at Proteus Industrial today. He has helped research, develop and test products to help make the Proteus brand what it is today. This has included visiting testing facilities overseas to carry out short circuit testing on product which unfortunately just isn’t available in the UK anymore. Tony currently produces all the drawings for any special switchgear arrangements that we build which could include PRO2000 floor standing LV switchboards or EV distribution unit arrangements for electric vehicle charging. Tony also assists in the panelboard testing before products are despatched and will carry out routine testing in his purpose built on-site testing facility.

Both Tony and Julie as mentioned have played key roles in the growth of Proteus as well as helping develop our employees and share their knowledge. Both of them have a team of people they work with and who they have help up skill over their years with the company.

We would like to congratulate Tony and Julie on their incredible service to the company and take this opportunity to thank them both for their loyality, commitment and support. We have prospered through many years together and we are looking forward to many more to come.
