Working directly with the technical team at Proteus a special PRO2000 switchboard was designed. Fitted with a 400 A triple pole main incoming MCCB (moulded case circuit breaker) special angled copper pads to allow rear access were provided, to facilitate entry of the cables from the rear wall.
Frustrated with their current suppliers, tight on space for the installation and tight on budget, Kevin Osbourne of Clarkson Electrical turned to Proteus Industrial Switchgear of Telford for a solution. The project was to distribute power to 40 apartments at Villiers House Leamington Spa.
Working directly with the technical team at Proteus a special PRO2000 switchboard was designed. Fitted with a 400 amp triple pole main incoming MCCB (moulded case circuit breaker) special angled copper pads to allow rear access were provided, to facilitate entry of the cables from the rear wall. Additionally, the switchboard was fitted with an aluminium gland plate to allow quick and easy fitting of the 120mm incoming single core cables.
The 16 outgoing triple pole MCCB ways offered form 3B group mounted segregation.
For the individual billing of the apartments forty 63 amp single pole MCCB’s were prewired to a direct connect mid approved tariff kwh meter. The landlords supplies and all communal areas and hallways were controlled by a 200 amp triple pole MCCB again with a mid approved tariff kwh meter supplying a three phase BX type distribution board.
This type of metered distribution board is a modern alternative to the conventional fuse board and loose metering products of the past. Offering reduced costs in installation time and occupying less space the units can be fully tested and certified before leaving the factory.
“Effectively having the board delivered all ready for connecting up and onward to each apartment consumer unit feed was a great help” said Kevin.
